Shuurin Dojo here in Omaha will be having it's 3rd annual Fall Fellowship Seminar from Sept 28 - 29, 2013. Instructors will include:
$50 for both days. $30 for Saturday / $30 for Sunday. $7.00 per session. Please visit the Shuurin Dojo site at www.shuurindojo.com for more information. There will be no class at Mockingbird Hills Community Center that Saturday. Students are encouraged to attend the seminar. This Sept. 7 and 8, Zanshin Aikido School in Independence, MO, will be hosting Skip Chapman for the fall seminar. Chapman Sensei is the current president elect of the United States Aikido Federation, and chief instructor of Jersey Shore Aikido. Mockingbird Hills Community Center is closed to the general public the week of May 12-May 18, 2013. However, the building is still open for aikido classes. The front desk may not be staffed, so call Dan Sensei if you cannot locate us (we may be practicing outside). Locker rooms will also still be available for use during this time.
The community center will also be closed on Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day. There will be no class. No class on Sat, May 18, so that students may attend the Clyde Takeguchi Seminar in Lincoln, NE. Reminder, there will be no class at Mockingbird Hills Community Center on Saturday, May 18 so that students my attend Capital Aikido - Lincoln's Clyde Takeguchi Seminar from Fri, May 17 to Sun, May 19, 2013. Jayne Ozeki Sensei, 7th Dan Shidoin from New York Aikikai, will be joining University of Iowa Aikikai in April 2013. This will be her last seminar in Iowa City, probably her last seminar in the Midwest, and possibly her last seminar ever. Note that Ozeki Sensei is teaching Friday night and Saturday all day. Knut Bauer, 5th dan, Shidoin, from Central Illinois Aikikai (CIA), is teaching Sunday. There will be no class at Mockingbird Hills Community Center on Sat, April 6 so that we may attend this seminar. Zanshin Aikido School will be having a grand opening seminar in Independence, Missouri, on March 16th and 17th. Donovan Waite Shihan from Aikido of Center City is a highly respected member of the United States Aikido Federation's Technical Committee, and travels extensively around the world teaching Aikido. If possible, please RSVP (to help plan for space) and feel free to contact the club regarding any questions about schedule or accommodations. From March 22-24, 2013, Aikijuku Dojo in Iowa is honored to host Ryoichi Kinoshita Sensei from Osaka, Japan. Kinoshita Sensei has devoted his life to Aikido under the instruction of Abe Seiseki Sensei for nearly 40 years and instructs full-time at dojo in Osaka, Kyoto and Nara as well as at his own dojo. With the additional support of Aikido of Santa Cruz, Heart of San Francisco Aikido, Aikido of Berkeley, Aikido of San Jose, and Cedar River Aikikai, Kinoshita Sensei will bring his mastery of centering and Aikido connection to Central New York for special seminars on March 15–24, 2013.
